Maybank IT Transformation Programme – Maybank Malaysia Berhad (MAYBANK)

Maybank is Malaysia’s largest financial services group and has a strong regional presence in South East Asia.

BACKGROUND OF ENGAGEMENT

  • Phase 1: The project’s objective was to plan and mobilise the IT Transformation Programme for Maybank who is embarking on a 5-year transformation journey in order to achieve its 2015 aspirations. In a joint partnership, IA and Booz & Company worked together to provide consultancy services to Maybank via four (4) main work streams i.e. Enterprise Architecture (EA); Programme Management, Governance & Planning; Change, HR & Communication; and RFP Advisory.
  • Phase 2: The project’s objective was to carry out the implementation of the IT Transformation Programme by assisting Maybank in the areas of Central Planning & Management (i.e. Programme Management & Leadership, Delivery Planning, PMO, Enterprise Architecture, Business Process, Change Management, HR and Skills Development) and individual projects of works (i.e. 1IT Target Operating Model, SI Selection, Branch Front End support, Cash Management support, Distribution Operating Model, Regional Operating Model / Model Bank, Business Engagement Strategy, Cost to Income, IT Outsourcing).

SCOPE & VALUE DELIVERED

Our scope of work includes :

  • Development of Enterprise Architecture (EA) for Maybank.
  • Set up of the Programme Management Office (PMO) – processes, templates, governance.
  • Set up of the Change Management, HR and Communications work streams for the programme.
  • Definition of the RFP / procurement process.
  • Provided advisory for the Branch Front End and Cash Management System releases.
  • Assistance to central planning & management.
  • Assistance to individual projects of work.

Value to the client :

  • Regional Enterprise Architecture and Release Roadmap for Maybank.
  • Operationalised the Programme Management Office (PMO) for the entire IT Transformation Programme.
